The story follows a man who has spent most of his adult life rebuilding himself after repeated personal and emotional collapses. Some were caused by his own mistakes; others came from relationships ending in disaster. Each time he rebuilt, he tried to create a life that was more stable, more deliberate, and less vulnerable than the one before.
