1. Update your graphics card drivers
Make sure your GPU (NVIDIA / AMD / Intel) is using the latest drivers. Ren'Py relies on OpenGL and outdated drivers can cause issues.
2. Force Ren'Py to use ANGLE or software renderer
Go into the game folder and open the file named renpy.exe (you’ll find it in the main folder).
This will open the Ren'Py launcher.
From there, click:
“Force ANGLE Renderer” or
“Force GL2” (depending on your system)
Then run the game again.
3. Re-download and re-extract the game
Sometimes a bad download or broken archive can cause issues.
Delete the current folder, download the game again, and extract it using 7-Zip or WinRAR.
