You command the Iron Mistress, an armoured train, in a war that should have ended ten years ago. Major Victoria Steele bet her train against yours at cards, lost, and kept the salute and the seat beside you.
Every battle is a bet on the front line. Put up to five officers on duty and their cards become your hand. Deploy them across four lanes, spend your fuel as the tank fills each turn, and hold the artillery carpet bomb for the turn it clears the field. Win, and the enemy officer signs on. Pour her a glass of Officers' Reserve whiskey in your quarters, and every bottle takes her one step further, from a salute to a full debrief, all of it animated.
The demo opens the Ashen Front: the trenches of the first theater, the officers who hold them, and Field Marshal Augusta Ironwood, the Iron Wall, waiting at the end.
