The game teaches you the words you need to understand the people around you and get around, and you use them to progress, some as commands the island's old machines only obey when you say them, others to follow what people are saying or to find the spicy content. On your first day a coworker teaches you 見る (look) over a cat video before lunch, and after work you can use it to peek at things you probably shouldn't.Day one takes about 20 minutes, and with Adult mode on there are seven scenes to find, two of them explicit.You play Eric, an IT engineer from Norway, or Carina, and everyone on the island works for the same company and lives there too. Japanese you haven't learned yet is blurred in both the text and the voices and clears up as you learn the words, and you can switch that off if you're fine listening to Japanese full on. Mio from your team speaks English and has one monorail ride to teach you enough not to embarrass everyone, and by the end of the day she has noticed what the machines do for you and wants to know how. A run teaches you eleven words, and you can start with no Japanese at all.With Adult mode on there are seven scenes to find during the day.
