As the mother talk to people until you are able to get into the bath house, there you will be able to get portable water from the top right corner. With the water you are now able to extinguish the fire that is just north of the grandmas house and get the gloves. You now have all the items needed and should be able to finish the game by talking to the person by the rocks at the train tracks. If you go to the bus stop after the game you will be able to play a short section at a water park.
