You play by drawing event cards that affect your TIME, MONEY, and STAMINA. You draw a card by simply clicking on the green square. The letter on the square affects only the corresponing criteria, T is for time, M is for money, etc.To get into visual novel mode, you have to draw a “scene” card from the money square. These are wild cards that boost your money sizably and starts the visual novel in the player window. The visual novel acts like a cut scene but be careful. You can die in the visual novel by failing a stamina check. After the visual novel scene ends, you go back to board game mode and pick up where you left off.To progress in the board game you have to earn enough money to pay the toll. It’s the amount on the numeric square, i.e. 50 at home. When you do this, a different section of the map appears to the right. Repeat the process till you get to the garage, but keep an eye on your stamina and time. If they both reach zero, the game is over.The final map is complete when you see the garage section. The garage is the demon lair. There are only money cards there, so start looting, but beware of the master demon. She can kill you instantly, i.e. sudden death.If you make it past the lair, head back home quickly with your money. There is no toll going back, but be aware, it will cost you 5 time units to make it back home from the garage. There are only 2 cut scenes when you head back, so going back is easier.Note: You have to select “BOTH” at the beginning of the game to play both the board game and the visual novel. You also have the option of playing just the board game for shorter games. There are other factors in the game that I might have missed, so please read the tutorial section at the beginning of the game. To aid game play there is a save function in the game. Click on the gear icon on the lower right.
