As a partial workaround it's possible to start the story at a later time after entering your name, just chose a number instead of the start button on top.Other problems can be slow down for some seconds usually on slower systems, freeze on skipping, random errors that go away pressing the ok button.The Mac and Linux Build are experimental and may not work as intended. I've made a limited test on Linux build (seem to work but need some libraries).
