Rance 9 - The Helmanian Revolution
The oldest nation to still exist on the Continent is the militant Helmanian Empire. A country with a long history, and once the most powerful nation in the world, Helman has experienced years of decay under a corrupt regime. A civil war, an invasion by a neighboring power, or perhaps both could happen at any moment. Amidst fears of such turmoil by no small portion of the population, a man who was once exiled from Helman rises to action.Years prior, Prince Patton Misnarge fought to prove his worth by invading another country, but failed and disappeared from the public eye. Swearing to take his country back, Patton trained and returned a strong and admirable man. He sought to make use of the peerless champion he met on his journeys to fight to revolutionize Helman. Yes, the key to his plan was to get the assistance of the strongest and most brutal warrior, Rance.~CHARACTERS~RanceThe protagonist of this series. Loves girls/sex.Follows his desires, no questions asked and no mercy offered. The Archfiend froze his longtime partner, Sill, in a block of ice, and he was planning to infiltrate Helman in search of treasure that could help, so when Patton asked for help with the revolution, he readily agreed. He also demanded to be the leader, making himself captain of the Revolutionary Army.Of course, he plans to bang any hot girls he comes across, including Empress Sheila.Russian CulletRance’s new servant. She and many other boys and girls were captured by slave traders and on the way to be sold off when they were rescued by Rance. But when she saw Rance demand sex of the girls as a reward, she offered to take their place and do whatever he asked. She accepted Rance’s command to serve him until the end of his current adventure, leaving her with the job of tending to his chores.Kanami KentouThe Queen of Leazas’s personal ninja.Back when Rance was investigating an incident in Leazas, Queen (Princess at the time) Lia ordered her to stop him, marking their first meeting. Lia later fell madly in love with Rance and often ordered Kanami to watch over him, typically from the attic of Rance’s room. Petite and nimble, her ninja skills are adequate, but she personally wishes for a normal, happy life.Tilde SharpA lieutenant in the Kingdom of Leazas’s Royal Guard.Brimming with ambition, her goal is to be the world’s strongest swordswoman. She loves praise and flattery, and puts in a sincere effort to get some whenever possible. Still, she believes she must appear elegant at all times, so however strenuous the work, she pretends it was all simple in the end. She wants to establish connections with promising men, so Rance’s exceptional talent has led her to sleep with him on occasion. Her current objective is to climb the ranks and become captain of the Royal Guard.Shizuka MasouA mage from the Free City of Custom.A man named Ragarl killed her father and kidnapped her mother, and until a few years ago, her life was dedicated to revenge. After Ragarl’s death, his daughter and Shizuka’s half-sister, Nagi su Ragarl, swore her own vengeance against Shizuka. Unwilling to kill her sister, she currently lives a life of constant travel to avoid Nagi’s attacks. She claims to despise Rance, but ends up working with him frequently.SenhimeA mercenary from the island nation of Nippon, which is to the Continent’s east. Her real name is Sen Tokugawa.Born in a nation rife with civil war, she’s oddly fond of battle, and particularly loves fights that end in the virtual destruction of her side. Her clan was destroyed by youkai tanuki and she was thrown in a dungeon where Rance saved her. When peace came to Nippon, she left in search of battle elsewhere.Pigu GreciamA mysterious girl who’s a part of Helman’s 1st Army.Nobody really knows what’s going on in her head. She inexplicably has the power to split into smaller versions of herself.Miracle TorA dark mage with talent that could go down in history. She spent much of her life training away from the public eye and doesn’t have much fame, but her skill is unmistakable. An acquaintance of Patton, she came to help the Revolutionary Army. She proclaims that she will one day take over the world and has no reservations about telling this to the revolutionaries.Last update: 2023-02-23Released: Japanese 2014-04-15, English 2023-02-23Original Title: ランス９－ヘルマン革命－Creator (developer): AliceSoftCensored: NoVersion: 1.00OS: WindowsLanguage: EnglishLength: Very long (Around 70 hours)VNDB:Store:Other Games:Size: 3 GBGenre:3D Game, 2DCG, Japanese Game, Male Protagonist, Multiple Endings, Anal Sex, BDSM, Blackmail, Bukkake, Corruption, Creampie, Drugs, Group Sex, Groping, Handjob, Harem, Humiliation, Male Domination, Multiple Penetration, Oral Sex, Rape, Sex Toys, Sexual Harassment, Slave, Tentacles, Teasing, Titfuck, Vaginal Sex, Virgin, Dating Sim, Fantasy, Graphic Violence, RPG, Turn Based CombatHow to install:INSTALLER VERSION1. Extract and run.Changelog:v1.0 Release translation completedTranslator Notes:The translation was done using tools but it's pretty heavily edited and more-or-less fully playtested. The end result is not professional, but it's pretty good. There are sure to be spelling errors and typos I missed. If you let me know, I'll compile them and make an update down the line.I've spent enough time in this game that I've lost objectivity. It is far from perfect but I don't want to prime anyone with the parts that bothered me. Instead, I'll point out some of the game's notable strengths and leave the weaknesses for you to identify for yourself. If you enjoy the genre, this is an excellent entry. There is a lot of nice-looking art. There are some repeated poses but most scenes have several unique pieces, each with a few variations. The protagonist is fun to spend the game with. She is well written to be smart, brave, and kind with an excellent balance of innocence and lust. The female MC is the PoV character for me so having a likable protagonist is a big bonus! The plot is simple but not entirely cliché. It's overall above par. Worldbuilding is light and integrated well, though this is a general strength of the in media res structure of the isekai genreThe genre staples of rape and NTR are present and common but large portions of the game are remarkably sex-positive. This is especially true of the brothel!Substantial bug fixes were implemented during translation as well as some features from the latest official release (which contains no new content)Fixed a bug where Anna could be interacted with during her introduction.Fixed various translation typos that lost the closing chevron from the name marker.Corrected some names in the final Veloja diner sceneRe-positioned the sconces that seemed to have fallen off the Adventurer's Guild wallRemoved excess portals from the Sacred Forestcould walk onto Lord Otto's roof from beside his housecould walk north into the void from the path towards the mysterious when first accessible. This lets you get to the portal leading west, bypassing the gate.could stand on the secret door in the waterfall forest before the event becomes availablecould walk off the edge of the cliff in the waterfall forest into some rocksFixed a bug where the Bandit boss appeared and disappeared at the wrong times during his trip from the Black Bazaar. After entering No-Name Trail and leaving by the path to Veloja, the rain would never stop. The black market guard didn't properly move out of the way after the pass is acquired. After leaving the girl's house in the Black Slum, the player was teleported inside her front door.Corrected payments to match the text or text to match payments according to context.Filled in some missing map display names where context suggests they were intendedWhen Yume's Libido was between 20 and 30, the first panty peep event could be started but not completed. It can no longer be started more than once. Same as above but for the first stripping event and the first time he masturbates. The bunny outfit used the wrong base body art in one stance. The repeating portion of the Bunnygirl Paradise dialogue was... messed up. Untangled and improved it to the best of my ability.fixed the order of action of various eventsFixed the order of various dialogue lines to match the events describedThe Desert Star's armor type was "None" making it unequippableSame with Aquamarine PendantThe entirety of the third scene in the sexual slavery Bad End was overwritten by a repetition of an earlier scene. I recovered it from the copy in the recollection room.Teleportation idols (any many other events) had the incorrect selections keyed to 'cancel'Switches in the Forest Ruins would only show the proper dialogue if activated in the right order. They can now be activated in either order as was clearly the intent.Yume received a duplicate swimsuit when she first changed for workAdded a small event to explain the sudden appearance of the reverse bunnysuitSeveral special enemies stopped acting after several rounds of combat, mainly due to running out of MP. They now have attacks they can continue using rather than politely waiting to dieAdded idols to the Black Bazaar and near the Sacred Spring to make travel less unpleasant.Progressing between ~ 20 and ~45 Libido was only possible through the maid job, the use of aphrodisiacs, or hugging a lot of vagrants. I tweaked some numbers so that the Seaside Refreshments job is an alternate, less rape-y route.-fountain
